The Bridge to Excellence Program Purpose

Bridge to Excellence exists to create a space where intentional, deep, and meaningful mentoring relationships are formed, focused on faithfully engaging with students’ callings in the context of school, career, and our greater community.

What are the Perks of Being in Bridge to Excellence?

Consistent mentoring groups focused on meeting the academic, social, and emotional well-being of students.

A safe, supportive, and Christ-centered environment for students to build positive relationships with caring volunteers.

An opportunity to engage with the greater community through service projects and educational/workplace visits.

What Happens Each Program Day?

When students arrive after school, they will have the chance to eat and hang out before we gather for a devotional and prayer time.

Students then split into their mentoring to complete homework, guided discussion/activities, play games, and build relationships.

Mentoring groups also participate in a number of service projects and career & educational exploration trips throughout the year.

What is the Program’s Schedule?

Bridge to Excellence begins the first week of October each school year and continues until the middle of May.

The program meets Mondays & Wednesdays from the time students get done with school until 5:00.

During the school year, this program only meets on days when school is in session for a full day.

Mentoring groups take part in service projects and career trips throughout the year, as well. The service projects for the 2025-2026 school year will happen on Wednesday, January 21 & Monday, April 13. “My mentee and I have really connected over the last few months. He reminds me of myself when I was in middle school. Because we have so much in common, it is easy for me to understand where he is coming from and assist in motivating him to not give up on his academics. He likes to make jokes and is fun to hang out with. I think we are a great match!”
